We all know tertiary education comes at a cost, so here is a list of scholarships relevant to biotechnology, that can hopefully lighten the burden of a student loan if you choose to advance in your studies.
This scholarship is available for international students and gives you the opportunity of studying at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Russia.
All students admitted for masters and doctorates programs receive a full waiver of tuition, accommodation, health insurance and a stipend for living expenses of up to 40,000 RUR per month.
To be eligible, students applying must be in their final year of undergraduate degree or hold a higher education degree (Bachelor's degree, Master's Degree or Specialist degree) in one of the following areas of study:
- Mathematics
- Technical Science
- Applied Science
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
Students must also have a record of success in their studies and sufficient knowledge of the English language.
Flinders International Postgraduate Research Scholarship (FIPRS)
This scholarship is offered for a Masters degree in the field of courses offered by the university, giving you the opportunity to study at Flinders University, Adelaide, Australia.The value of this scholarship is full funding, tuition fees + stipend. The stipend provides the recipient with a rather generous living fee of $27,596 (AUD) tax exempt and indexed annually, and an establishment allowance of up to $1,485 is also available for scholars to assist with relocation fees.
To be eligible for this scholarship:
- Applicants must be a citizen of any overseas country (excluding New Zealand), and satisfy the academic entry requirements for a Masters degree by research or Doctorates by research.
- Applicants are required to have successfully completed at least the equivalent of an Australian First Class Hons degree.
- Applicants must meet the English Proficiency levels set by Flinders University.
- Applicants can't hold an equivalent research higher degree qualification.
- Applicants can't hold Australian Citizenship or permanent resident status.
KAUST fellowship
This scholarship is offered for a PhD degree in the field of any subject available at KAUST, and gives you the opportunity to study in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia.This is a fully funded scholarship, supporting students for the duration of their graduate studies. The benefits include: full tuition support, monthly living allowance (ranging between $20,000-$30,000 annual), housing, medical and dental coverage, as well as relocation support.
To be eligible for this scholarship:
- Applicant must have a minimum TOEFL score of 79 or 6.0 on the IELTS.
- Only official TOEFL or IELTS scores will be accepted.
- TOEFL or IELTS score is not required if applicant has a degree from an accredited institution in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia or New Zealand.
- Sufficient academic performance at previous institutions.
JCU Postgraduate Research Scholarship
This scholarship is offered for a completion of a Master's degree, in the field of courses offered by the University, and allows you the opportunity to study the James Cook University, Queensland, Australia.This is a fully funded scholarship that includes exemption from tuition fees for the duration of the scholarship and a living allowance of $28,092 per annum (AUD).
To be eligible for this scholarship:
- Applicants must demonstrate excellent academic record.
- Applicants must enroll in any of the postgraduate course of study.
- Applicants must meet the English Language requirements.
